Worldcoin Extends WLD Reservation Access
The iris-scanning crypto project Worldcoin has made it possible for unverified users to reserve their WLD tokens. Launched on July 24, the initiative seeks to create a global database for human identification and incentivizes users with native WLD tokens. On August 11, the team revealed that the World App offers a reservations feature for individuals to secure their tokens without verification of their World ID.
Worldcoin Offers Global Digital ID
The concept underlying the project centers around addressing a futuristic concern: distinguishing real humans from AI-powered bots in an automated digital landscape. To tackle this issue, the Worldcoin ID system can be used as a default identification mechanism granting humans access to diverse services and opportunities.
Worldcoin Faces Regulatory Pushback
Despite having 2 million customers before its public launch, the post-launch response has been subdued due to regulatory obstacles and investigations involving data collection methods. For example, Kenya raised alarm over collection of sensitive information in exchange for digital IDs while other countries have also taken action against the project such as Argentina and United Kingdom.
Reservation Feature Simplifies Token Process
To make it easier for everyone to participate in the global economy, World App provides reservations feature where tokens are valid for 12 months until redeemed by utilizing an iris scanning device known as Orb. This advancement simplifies token reservation process for wider user base and encourages them with native WLD tokens.
Worldcoin’s ambition of creating a global digital ID system faces legal challenges from certain governments who are concerned about data collection methods in exchange of digital IDs. Nevertheless, with its new reservations feature, more people can participate in this initiative without verifying their identity immediately which will help reach its potential target audience faster than before.
